WAYSTONEOFFROAD

Everything in Waystone

Trail guides you can trust, tools for the driver’s seat, and a crew to ride with. Free while we’re in beta.

Know the trail before you go

Every trail has a Waystone Guide, built by people who drove it.

Obstacle-by-obstacle guides

Each obstacle is rated 0–10 with notes, photos and the mile it’s at, so you know what’s coming and where.

Waypoints and points of interest

Turns, gates and junctions along the route, plus viewpoints, lunch spots, campsites, water, history and air-down spots.

Clear difficulty

Scenic, Easy, Medium or Hard, with a 0–10 rating, shape and color that read in bright sun and for colorblind drivers.

Satellite and topo maps

See the route on satellite imagery or USGS topo, with every stop numbered to match the guide.

Trailhead help

One tap for directions to the exact trailhead, plus tips from others on gates, road conditions and where to park.

On the trail

Built for the driver’s seat: big buttons, high contrast, works with gloves on.

Follow mode

Your position on the route with the next obstacles ahead. Peek at what’s coming, then jump back to live.

Offline maps

Download a trail’s map area before you lose service. GPS still works with no signal.

Record your run

Record your track, mark waypoints and obstacles as you go, and export it as a GPX file.

Live conditions

Check-ins show whether a trail is open or closed and when someone last drove it. Hazard flags (washouts, downed trees, closures) are confirmed or cleared by the next drivers.

Cell service reports

See which carriers have signal at the trailhead and along the way.

Wildfire layer

Active fire perimeters on the map so you can plan around them.

Ride with a crew

Plan trail runs, find people to wheel with, and keep everyone on the same page.

Trail Runs

Post a run on a trail (or "trail to be decided"), set the date, rig limits (tire size, lockers, winch) and skill level. People see right away if their rig fits.

Public or private

Public runs show up for drivers nearby. Private runs are invite-only: share a link by text or any app.

You approve the group

Open to all, or approve each person who asks. Then chat with your crew in the run’s group chat.

Find Spotters

Find drivers near you and follow the ones you ride with.

The Waystone Code

Every run follows the same trail etiquette: right of way, recoveries, Tread Lightly, no one left behind.

Your rig and your record

Show what you drive and where you’ve been.

Your garage

Add your rigs with photos, lift, tires, lockers and recovery gear.

Trail record and points

Earn points for trails you complete and for reviews. See how you rank on the Leaders board.

Trailblazer

Be the first to add a trail’s GPX route, exact trailhead or description and get bonus points, plus your name on the trail.

Lists

Save trails to Favorites or make your own lists, like a summer trip or trails to try next.

Private by design

You decide what others see.

Home area kept general

Your home area is rounded to about 5–7 miles, and others see just the town name. Check-ins don’t save your position.

Photos without location

Photos are cleaned of hidden GPS and camera data before they’re uploaded.

Private profiles and blocking

Make your profile private, or block someone so they can’t see your rigs, activity or runs.

Your data, your call

Delete your account and everything you posted from inside the app, anytime. We don’t sell your information.
